The Falling Towers of America! Where are the Brothers of Jared?

At the entry of the temple of Solomon there stood two pillars Jachin and Boaz.  The meaning of these two pillars can be translated from the Hebrew to the English, "YAH (GOD) ESTABLISHES STRENGTH".  The strength of God is demonstrated to Israel by the blessings of the covenant.  These blessings include divine protection of the land, health, economic prosperity, and and enduring posterity. When the covenant is broken God withdraws his protection and the strength of the nation then fails.

On September 11, 2001 the pillars of America were broken.  As a land of promise, this land on which we live is a covenant land grant and all who reside here both Israel or Gentile MUST abide the terms of God's covenant or be swept off.

"For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity (lawlessness) among the children of the land, that they are swept off." (Ether 2:10)

When the terms of the covenant are breached our strength fails.  Two options then remain open under the terms of the covenant:

1. Repent:  Turn back to God, Learn or Remember the Terms of the Covenant, and Heal the breech in our Covenant relationship with God.  The result is that covenant curses are overturned by the covenant blessings.

2.Continue in our Rebellion:  The judgments spelled out under the terms of the covenant roll forth (i.e. increase in intensity) until the people either repent or are destroyed.

The current momentum of lawlessness that exists in the United States of America is not likely to be turned back.  As a result the nation will be destroyed, divided, and it's people scattered.  This is not the first time such a thing has occurred. A type and shadow of our destruction is demonstrated in the Epic of the Tower of Babel:

"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." (Genesis 11:14)

In Hebraic context the phrase, "let us make a name" has several meanings.  Besides the meaning of renown or fame there is another meaning.  To make us a name refers to the establishment of our own law and order independent of God's covenant. In other words, instead of establishing God's Covenant Laws they legislated and established another system that was either in defiance of or a counterfeit to God's Kingdom.  The result was the destruction of their tower and a scattering of the people.

Certain Judgment

When the momentum of iniquity (lawlessness) can no longer be turned back there does come a nation point of no return.  Like the people who built the Tower of Babel we are coming to that point of no return.  At that point, the day of our repentance is past and the verdict of God's decree must be carried out.  At such a point where national redemption becomes either improbable or impossible, what can the average Joe Shmoe do?

ENTER THE BROTHERS OF JARED

The Brother of Jared serves as a type and shadow of those in the latter days who will serve as proxy saviors or intercessors for small groups of people in the land.  The Brother of Jared calling upon the name of the Lord is a key example of a man appealing to God before his courtroom.  In Genesis 11 God rendered judgment on mankind with the penalty of scattering them and mixing their language.  The King of Heaven looked down upon the earth, saw what was going on, and declared his ruling upon them:

“Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.” (Genesis 11:7-8)

The language would be mixed and the people would be scattered as a result of God’s ruling.  Similar to obtaining favor with a King by honoring the King and being obedient to his decrees, the Brother of Jared had obtained favor with God.  As such he could approach the Throne of Heaven and Intercede for his people.   The Brother of Jared then cried out (Hebraic thought—made a legal request or proclamation) to God regarding the two judgments God rendered:

“And the brother of Jared being a large and mighty man, and a man highly favored of the Lord, Jared, his brother, said unto him: Cry unto the Lord, that he will not confound us that we may not understand our words.” (Ether 1:34)

1.        The Brother of Jared made a legal request for God to stay his judgment upon him and their relations regarding the confounding of their language:

“And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did cry unto the Lord, and the Lord had compassion upon Jared; therefore he did not confound the language of Jared; and Jared and his brother were not confounded.  Then Jared said unto his brother: Cry again unto the Lord, and it may be that he will turn away his anger from them who are our friends, that he confound not their language.  And it came to pass that the brother of Jared did cry unto the Lord, and the Lord had compassion upon their friends and their families also, that they were not confounded. (Ether 1:35-37)

2.       The Brother of Jared made a legal request for God regarding their scattering:

“And it came to pass that Jared spake again unto his brother, saying: Go and inquire of the Lord whether he will drive us out of the land, and if he will drive us out of the land, cry unto him whither we shall go. And who knoweth but the Lord will carry us forth into a land which is choice above all the earth? And if it so be, let us be faithful unto the Lord, that we may receive it for our inheritance.” (Ether 1:38)

As of a result of the Brother of Jared crying unto the Lord, God stayed his judgment upon them in regard to confounding their language and directed his judgment in regard to them being scattered.   The Brother of Jared’s requests were not a tirade of fake emotional outbursts but making a legal plea before the Judge of all the earth to reduce or alter the ruling sent forth from God’s courtroom.  Because the Brother of Jared had honored God and found favor with him he could act as an intercessor between God and his people.

In the Torah the Prophets were agents of God. They were God’s authorized prosecuting attorneys. They brought  covenant lawsuits against nations. They reminded the common people as well as rulers of the covenant that God had made. Then they reminded the listeners of the statutes and judgments of that covenant. They charged people under the terms of that covenant.  Then they warned the nation of the fact that God, the one true king of Israel, would bring His curses against the nation unless they came back to the terms of the covenant (i.e.  such as war,  disease, pestilence, famine and economic ruin).

The prophets called the nation to repentance reminding them of the promised blessings for honoring God and keeping the laws of his Covenant.  If the breach of covenant was healed then deliverance and blessings followed.  If the breach was not repaired then the nation was destroyed and the people were scattered and taken into captivity.

After making his plea before the Judge of Heaven and Earth, the Brother of Jared and his people were taken to a place where they rested for four years.  Judgment had been passed and the sentence carried out.  While their language was not confounded they were still taken away into another land.  The judgments were for national sin not the personal sins of the Brother of Jared or his people.  The judgment having been carried out the next step was complete legal restoration.  Just as the rendering of judgment is a legal process the process of restoration is a legal process.  God does not cast judgment lightly nor does he take restoration lightly.

His process of restoration includes cleaning the people up, teaching them his laws, conditioning them to live his commandments, and finally bringing them back into his presence before his throne.

WE NEED MODERN BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF JARED!

The fate of the United States of America as a nation appears fixed.  While there are individual and groups of God fearing people, the government has been overrun by modern pharaohs and gadianton robbers.  They infest the high places-- the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of the government. Through their office they are legislating laws and ordinances that establish sin as the new standard of the Land.  The result of the rebellion against the true owner of this Land is ensuring our destruction and the sword of justice hangs over us.  We need men and women who will put off their traditions and lawlessness to come forth and once again learn and embrace the God of this Land- Jesus Christ (Yeshua ha Moshiach).

How does one become a Brother or Sister of Jared in these days?

1. Shema - Hear and Do Israel!  Turn your heart back to God and Make him your heart's desire.  Make Yeshua your RULER, KING, AND LORD!

2. Learn and establish God's commandments as a sign on your hand (doings) and your forehead (your active will) in your homes, families, and communities.  Embrace the commandments of your King and Lord as THE ONE TRUE EXPRESSION OF COVENANT LOVE!

3. Return and Call upon the Name of the Lord- Every day to love him, draw near to him, and establish his covenant laws of love instead of your definition of love.

4. Teach God and his Covenant to your Children and your children's children by exemplifying him, talking about him, and walking in our world doing the works he would do.

5. Consecrate yourself according to the Standard of Liberty for God's Kingdom instead of everyman walking after the desires and laws of his own heart.

It is available and accessible to everyone.  IT IS TIME TO STOP TRYING TO BE OUR OWN GOD.  IT IS TIME TO PUT OFF OUR IDOLATRY OF WORSHIPING RELIGIOUS LEADERS, RELIGIOUS GURUS, AND RELIGIOUS CELEBRITIES WHOSE ONLY MESSAGE IS--"FOLLOW US!  ALL IS WELL!  STAY ASLEEP".

The establishment of Zion commences with ourselves first, our immediate family next, then our communities, our states, and then a nation.  AND  should the nation be destroyed, there will be men and women of covenant who can then stand forth and establish the Pillars of God's House on this land again.  It can be done.

The Brother of Jared, Lehi, Nephi and many others are examples of success.  It is time to turn our hearts back to the Fathers who worshiped the TRUE AND LIVING GOD ACCORDING TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS--HONORING HIM AND NOT PUTTING THEIR TRUST IN THE ARM OF FLESH.  WE CAN DO IT!  IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE AND IT MUST BE DONE AGAIN!

Turning the Hearts to the Fathers – God’s Appointed Times (Introduction)

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is a consistent God.  He works in consistent patterns and cycles.  These cycles are eternal and are instituted as perpetual ordinances upon his people forever.  God is not one to leave us ignorant of his relationship with us, our redemption, his covenant provision,  his gathering arm, his sanctifying blood, and his everlasting rule as King of Kings.

These appointed times are as binding upon us today as they were when they were instituted in the creation:

“Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons (moed- appointed times), days, and years.

As it was in the days of the Creation so it was also in the Restoration of the Covenant to the House of Israel at Mount Sinai, “And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.”

The Seven Eternal Appointed Times:

If you knew that the God of Heaven had set apart an Ordained Time to meet with his people, would you not want to know when these times were and what they were about so that you could prepare to meet the Creator of Heaven and Earth and be numbered among his people forever?  Or would you ignore these appointed times given to all the House Of Israel (THAT WOULD BE ALL THE TRIBES—INCLUDING EPHRAIM) as a perpetual law to observe for all time?  We speak of being called and numbered among the people of God but if we fail to recognize His covenant times and call is it possible we may miss the mark and find ourselves outside the camp of God’s people.

Passover (Pesach)
God delivers His people from the bondage  of slavery
God passed over (in judgment) his people
Unleavened Bread
(Chag ha Matzah)
God purifies his people
No leavening was to be eaten - a picture of ridding sin and contention from our homes and nation
Feast of First Fruits
(Ha Bikkurim)
God provided food for his people (a harvest of barley)
God's reminder that he will always provide his people with everything they need.
Feast of Weeks/Pentecost
(Shavuot)
The Extending of the Covenant. God gave the Law (The Ten Commandments) to Israel.
These laws were to be guidance for his people to find happiness and peace in their lives
Feast of Trumpets
(Yom Teruah)
Trumpets blown to begin the countdown to the day of atonement.
The day and hour that no man knows. God's Revelation as preparation for his people.
Day of Atonement
(Yom Kippur)
The cleansing of the sanctuary and purging of sin of Israel as a nation
God restores his people and makes them clean as a nation.
Feast of Tabernacles
(Sukkot)
Entering the Promised land. The establishment of the people of God in a Covenant Land of Inheritance.  The coronation of the King of Israel.
A reminder to the Israelites of the time they lived in tents in the wilderness with the Presence of God.

These Appointed times are not "Jewish Holiday" nor are they they man made traditions.  They are the appointed times of God given from the beginning to his people.  They were given to THE FATHERS. His patterns go all the way back to the beginning and are demonstrated through cycles. One of those cycles being harvests. In the Scriptures we see the phrase “in the beginning” (Beresheit-Genesis) referring to the beginning of a harvest, and the phrase “end of days” (miketz yamim) referring to the end of the harvest.

God's (YHVH) Appointed Times:

The Scriptures demonstrate the appointed times as  “My (YHVH) appointed Times":

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: These are My appointed times, the times of the LORD (YHVH) that you will proclaim as sacred assemblies. (Leviticus 23:2)

In other words, the appointed times belong to God. They are often erroneously referred to as the Jewish Holidays, but while thankfully the Jews preserved the knowledge of these eternal appointments and cycles we must not mistake the appointed times of God as a cultural holiday like Christmas or Easter. If understood correctly, the cycle and pattern of God's appointed times will lead us into a greater understanding of God's plans for and relationship with his people.  The questions is will we be found among his assembly?  Or sit back making excuses of why we cannot come to the REAL Wedding Feast!

The Death Throes of America - The Curses of the Covenant

The Land of the United States of America is a land of promise.  In a Hebraic context a "land of promise" is a covenant land grant.  As such the conditions for dwelling in the land are very different as all people who reside on the land grand must obey the terms God has set out for residency.

" And now, we can behold the decrees of God concerning this land, that it is a land of promise; and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall serve God, or they shall be swept off when the fulness of his wrath shall come upon them. And the fulness of his wrath cometh upon them when they are ripened in iniquity. For behold, this is a land which is choice above all other lands; wherefore he that doth possess it shall serve God or shall be swept off; for it is the everlasting decree of God. And it is not until the fulness of iniquity among the children of the land, that they are swept off." (Ether 2:9-10)

This land is a covenant land with covenant stipulations. We can make political and emotional appeals all day, but in the end they may not matter when the terms of God's covenant are broken and the consequences come about on everyone-- gay, straight, black, white, Jew, Gentile.  Often times political propaganda appeals to the emotions and ideals of equal rights, but iniquity is iniquity no matter what label it comes under. The results of sustaining any form of iniquity are never good.

Like Ancient Israel who defiled their land of promise and turned their back on God, this nation has mixed the holy with the profane and legislates that which is considered an abomination by God to be acceptable.  Like the rulers of Ancient Israel who made a covenant with death and hell by leaving their covenant relationship with God and legislating iniquity, our nation is following in the exact same path. The result is forever the same--THE CURSES OF THE COVENANT ARE POURED OUT UNTIL THE PEOPLE EITHER REPENT OR ARE SWEPT OFF!

The Point of No Return- The Sorrowing of the Damned

There is a point of no return that is coming in fact it may already be here.  It is the point where it becomes unlawful to recommend the people to God because they sorrow that they can no longer continue in their lawlessness (iniquity) instead of sorrowing unto repentance.  Let's see how we compare to the Nephites in their condition of iniquity (Mormon 2):

10 And it came to pass that the Nephites began to repent of their iniquity, and began to cry even as had been prophesied by Samuel the prophet; for behold no man could keep that which was his own, for the thieves, and the robbers, and the murderers, and the magic art, and the witchcraft which was in the land.

*No man could keep that which was his own-- whether it be through financial impropriety, speculative bubbles, or conspiracy the peoples wealth becomes slippery.  Sounds familiar to American Economy 2015!

*Thieves, robbers, and murderers-- Interesting as in the days of the Nephites the Gadianton robbers had gained control of the Government and the Church.  It is easy for us to accept the robbers controlling the government, but the reality is that they have also gained control of the church as well.

*Magic Art and Witchcraft - Spiritualism, Divination, and  other forbidden practices fill our land and who would have thought that many people who label themselves as "THE REMNANT"  are now among the chief purveyors of these sins.  Like Ancient Israel mixing the holy with the profane and saying they are worshiping the God of Israel while at the same time leading others to do so in the name of God.

11 Thus there began to be a mourning and a lamentation in all the land because of these things, and more especially among the people of Nephi.

12 And it came to pass that when I, Mormon, saw their lamentation and their mourning and their sorrow before the Lord, my heart did begin to rejoice within me, knowing the mercies and the long-suffering of the Lord, therefore supposing that he would be merciful unto them that they would again become a righteous people.

*Well when the Sh*t hits the fan I think the lamentation, mourning, and sorrowing will probably make its debut.  Right now many are seduced by comfort, complacency, and Apathy.  Remember-- "ALL IS WELL IN ZION!  STAY ASLEEP! YOU ARE SAFE BECAUSE YOU ARE IN THE ONE TRUE _____________________  (FILL IN THE BLANK:  CHURCH/GROUP/RELIGION!)

13 But behold this my joy was vain, for their sorrowing was not unto repentance, because of the goodness of God; but it was rather the sorrowing of the damned, because the Lord would not always suffer them to take happiness in sin.

14 And they did not come unto Jesus with broken hearts and contrite spirits, but they did curse God, and wish to die. Nevertheless they would struggle with the sword for their lives.

15 And it came to pass that my sorrow did return unto me again, and I saw that the day of grace was passed with them, both temporally and spiritually....

Mitigating the Judgment

Like God's judgment upon the Tower of Babel we are about to see judgments of like severity poured out upon our Nation.  Even in the midst of the darkness of impending judgment there is the possibility of the light of salvation.  What will it take--Men and Women who will walk in the Path of Covenant Intercessors like the Brother of Jared.  Rather than choosing death they choose life in taking upon them the name of Christ--they choosing repentance rather than destruction.  Make no mistake the judgments are sure, but an Exodus under the covering of the God of Israel is still available.  Before that day comes though, there must be people like the Brother of Jared who have have walked in the path of God's covenant, interceded for their people under the terms of the covenant, and obtained the Rest of God. I guess in the end the doctrine of the two ways still holds firm as in the ancient days-- Sorrowing unto true repentance or the sorrowing of the damned.  It seems we still have a choice.

Shalom

Turning the Hearts to the Fathers - The Greatest Commandment

Love is the greatest of all God’s commandments.  In fact Love is the Heart of the Atonement and the covenant we so earnestly seek.  The love of God is the principle upon which the foundations of Heaven and Earth were laid.  It is the principle by which all set apart relationships are established and by which all broken relationships may be restored.

The Heart Of the Covenant

In God’s covenant with Israel the Heart of the Covenant is expressed as an instruction and declaration of Love called the Shema:

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

To this day this declaration is remembered and guarded by Israelites everywhere because similar to our Preamble of the Constitution it expresses the foundation upon which our covenant relationship with God is based.-God (YHVH) is our ONE Elohim (Power, Authority, Lord, Ruler, King, Priesthood head). Like a faithful wife to a husband we are to love our God with singleness.  The keeping of his words (Instructions, commandments, etc) are the sign (mark) in our hand and forehead that demonstrate our covenant love for God.  It is Love that establishes Israel as a loyal and set apart people.

The Savior Declares the Shema -The Greatest Commandment

"And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." (Mark 12:28-30)
Today when many people are asked , “What is the greatest commandment?”, the response is usually to “Love God”.    This is true, but without the understanding of  Love as the Heart of the Covenant we do not understand how to fulfill this Greatest Commandment:

If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)

Moroni Draws Upon the Shema

The Prophet Moroni in his final words pleads with us to remember the Heart of the Covenant to Love God with all our might, mind, and strength:

“And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.

Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.  And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot." (Moroni 10:31-33)

To deny ourselves of all ungodliness is to embrace a way of life that embodies loving God in all that we think, do, and will.  There is no salvation in legalism, but we live our life by God’s law as an expression of Love for Him and the gift of grace he bestows.

Tzedekah – The Pure Love of Christ

To receive and experience the Love of the Covenant is to experience and extend the Pure Love of Christ-Charity.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail— But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.” (Moroni 7:46-48)

Just as Israel (Jacob) became a son of God through the Love of God even so the Nation of Israel became a covenant nation to God because of this same extension of Love.  When we hear the word Charity in American culture it often invokes images of someone giving food or money to someone in need. The word translated as Charity comes from the Hebrew word Tzedekah which means acts of righteousness.  In particular the acts of righteousness refer to the fulfillment of the commandments of God. As Moroni so aptly described Tzedekah or acts of righteousness thus:

“And charity (tzedekah) suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” (Moroni 7:45)

Covenant Love -The Ancient Path

Covenant love would lead us to establish and experience set apart relationships with God and with one another. As we live in a world where harmony has been broken it is through the love of God that these potential relationships may be restored. Covenant Relationships and Love are based upon the pillars of the covenant--eternal principles extended again and again as if it were one eternal round from Father Adam, Enoch, Noah, Shem, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph in Egypt even down to Joseph Smith.  The pillars of the covenant are steadfast, immovable, sure, and do not change. A man may build his house upon this sure foundation and establish true power in the priesthood upon himself and upon his posterity through all generations of time.

Covenant Love begins and ends with God and the establishment of his dominion.  It is the kind of love that God uses to confront us, the people he desires to establish covenant with, to identify the areas that hinder us in our relationships with him and one another.  In fact Covenant Love seeks to establish a more perfect relationship so that as it is in Heaven even will it so be on Earth.  There is a great and often senseless debate among scholars between the rule of law and the rule of love, but in the ancient paths followed by the Fathers they are one and the same:

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.” (1 John 2:3-11)

"Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome." (1 John 5:3)
